Characters created by Japan's renowned manga artist, Osamu Tezuka - Atom, Phoenix, Unico, Leo, and Black Jack - will appear in Knitty and Co-Knitty designs along with designs of the Earth! Since his debut in 1946, Tezuka has consistently advocated for the preciousness of life and the wonder of nature in his works.
This collection's designs and characters were inspired by his famous essay, "Save the Glass Earth." Nothing would make us happier than if it helps everyone understand the feelings for the Earth that Tezuka put into his work, and the message he entrusted to future generations. We hope to cherish and pass on Tezuka's message of the dignity of life, the wonder of our irreplaceable Earth, the danger our Earth faces due to various environmental problems caused by humans, and the need to save this "glass-like Earth" that is on the brink of breaking at any moment.
